Help/Systems, the world’s leader in software solutions for the IBM® System i, announces it has  renewed its partnership with Island Pacific, the global leader in retail merchandising and store operations software solutions. Help/Systems and Island Pacific are working together to bring business intelligence and automated operations solutions to the retail industry using the System i.

Island Pacific currently markets a software solution to users of their MERCHANDISING suite that allows them to more easily access data in their database using SEQUEL, Help/Systems’ business intelligence software. Users can purchase this software offering, called Island Pacific ViewPoint, through Island Pacific with the assistance of Help/Systems’ support and services representatives.

In addition to marketing the ViewPoint product, Island Pacific and Help/Systems jointly participate in Web-based educational seminars and in each other’s user conferences.

Richard Gaetano, Chief Operating Officer of Island Pacific said, “Help/Systems’ SEQUEL is not just another query and data reporting product, but a robust application that our users rely on to accomplish all their data access requirements. SEQUEL offers them a way to automate processes and be more innovative in their use of the tools through executive dashboards and additions to our core system. It is an exceptional product and we are pleased with the success our customers have had.”

With the advent of the partnership, Help/Systems and Island Pacific hope to extend this relationship to include the Robot Automated Operations Solution, a modular suite of software products that automates a wide spectrum of System i operations functions, including job scheduling, system backup and recovery, report management, message management, and much more.

Tom Huntington, Help/Systems’ Vice President of Technical Services, said, “We are excited about the opportunity to bring automated operations to Island Pacific customers and offer them more ways to make their lives easier. Of course, they’ll also have access to Help/Systems’ world-class technical support and education services.”

Stacy Jensen, Sales Manager for Business Intelligence products at Help/Systems commented, “We look forward to continuing to work with Island Pacific and helping them achieve their business objective of providing sophisticated, yet flexible, System i solutions for the retail industry."
